Corner of Love began serving in the most impoverished region of Nicaragua in 2000, bringing bibles and prayer to families in Northern rural communities surrounding San Ramón. We currently care for more than 30,000 people annually through Village Clinics and native-led programs to the North, East, and South of Matagalpa where <40% are “food poor,” meaning they cannot meet the daily minimum caloric requirement, even if they were to spend all their earnings on food. (World Bank 2011) In these remote villages, 68% of the population lack proper sanitation and clean water, and less than half of children finish primary school, for lack of basic needs like shoes and clothing.
