Tanya and Nelson Amador
Board Members & Founders
Nelson and Tanya began traveling to Nicaragua as a couple in 1992 and have since made more than 60 trips to San Ramon. Together they have built the mission from a “a good idea” into a great adventure to attempt great things for God. With the support of their church, various Board and Committee members, and especially their families, they have constructed the mission, piece by piece, beginning with no place to stay or serve in Nelson’s hometown, or office in the U.S. aside from their home. Tanya’s background in the auction business (her family owns MBA Auction in Renton, WA) led Corner of Love to begin holding an annual gala and she draws on business experience from MBA and mortgage banking to lead the organization. Nelson’s longtime employment with Safeway as a Meat Cutter is what allowed him to volunteer so much with Corner of Love and he is very thankful for that provision.
