Are you under 18 and want to serve with us? Here’s the buenas noticias (good news) . . . YOU CAN! Some trips do have limits on minors, though, so you should apply as soon as possible.
We accept minor travelers on most all of our trips. Some trip descriptions may indicate that the entire team is made up of young adults (and their leaders), such as when we host youth group. Under Upcoming Trips you may see “Teens and Families Welcome” next to a trip title, if so you can expect there to be more youth on that trip. If the trip title does not say this, you may still apply.
Although anyone can participate, Corner of Love reviews every volunteer enrollment carefully, screening our volunteers to ensure their safety and the safety of the communities in which our programs operate. Each applicant should review all upcoming trips and chose the mission or brigade that best suits them.
Accompanied Minors are those traveling with a parent or guardian. The age requirement for accompanied minors coming with a parent is 4 years old. The age requirement for accompanied minors traveling with a guardian (such as an uncle, grandma or friend’s parent who agrees to be responsible for the minor) is 8 years old. All minors need to complete a Trip Application and pay $1250 in the U.S. + $100 in Nicaragua. Minors coming with a guardian must fill out all three Minor Consent Forms plus a Trip Application.
Unaccompanied Minors are those traveling without a parent or dedicated guardian. Any unaccompanied minor under 18 must; a) be cleared to participate by their Team Leader (such as when we host youth groups) OR b) be cleared by Corner of Love’s directors. To join an established group or obtain clearance from a COL director, write to us. Unaccompanied minors must fill out all three Minor Consent Forms plus a Trip Application and pay $1250 in the U.S. + $100 in Nicaragua.
Corner of Love welcomes family participation in our mission in Nicaragua, in fact, we encourage it!
Corner of Love programs have no upper age limit.
