Get Involved

Years ago international mission was something we saw on TV, but today we live in a new era. You can directly help people in the neediest places of the world by getting on a plane or engaging in other ways. Modern transportation and technology are helping us attempt great things for God. This is an unprecedented time for doing the Lord’s work!

In our effort to give regular people the chance to attempt great things for God, Corner of Love encourages you to GO, PRAY, PROVIDE, or COLLECT for the people of Nicaragua and our ministry.

GO

If you have love to give, you are equipped to serve with us in Nicaragua. You do not have to be a healthcare professional or experienced missionary to join us. We have hosted people from all walks of life, ages two to ninety years old. We encourage service with family members, but many come as part of a team or with a friend. We offer three types of trips, most of which are “open registration,” meaning that anyone can apply. To secure your spot, apply early, even if you haven’t yet purchased your airfare. Not every trip should be a vacation… some have the potential to change your life!

Brigades

When we call a trip a “brigade” this means the week will include medical and/or dental and vision services and have a healthcare focus.

Who may apply?

  • General adult volunteers
  • Medical, dental, and vision professionals and workers
  • Pastors
  • 1 unaccompanied minor per 15 adults
  • 1 accompanied minor per 10 adults
  • Caps on team members depend on Team Leaders and services being offered, usually the maximum number of participants is 60

Missions

When we call a trip a “mission” this means the week will include a variety of ministry activities and have an evangelization focus.

Who may apply?

  • General adult volunteers
  • Medical, dental, and vision professionals and workers
  • Pastors
  • 1 unaccompanied minor per 6 adults
  • Unlimited accompanied minors
  • Caps on team members depend on Team Leaders and services being offered, usually the maximum number of participants is 80

Specialized Team

Specialized Teams require 14 paying individuals dedicated to working on a specific activity or those who require a different schedule, special agenda, or additional help. Specialized activities may include pediatrics, dermatology, study, sewing, surgery, education, pastoral development, etc. Specialized teams are usually not “open registration,” although COL may allow for additional participants.

PRAY

At our clinics we ask patients and their families how we can best pray for them and their families. Please lift up their humble petitions, as well as our own, listed here. Feel free to share these requests with others. (COL respects each patient’s privacy and does not reveal names or photographs of petitioners.)

PROVIDE

For every dollar, Corner of Love leverages $10-$200 dollars in medicine and supplies. Our ability to gather so much and also purchase medicine at an extraordinarily reduced cost makes us one of the most efficient organizations serving Nicaragua today. Our goals for the future include creating a Water Center to centralize our clean water projects and finishing construction of our three building facility, Plaza de Bondad, in San Ramon. Both of these facilities will be used to help us reach our healthcare, education, potable water, and church development objectives. But we could not do all this without you!

In the villages where we serve, your dollar is transformed into a young niño’s education, a critical medicine for an elderly woman, or materials to build a water tank, among so many other critical projects and healthcare campaigns.

Make your dollar go further by donating online now.

COLLECT

You can help collect what’s needed for use in Nicaragua at Corner of Love’s clinics. Distribute handouts and seek items like vitamins, Ibuprofen, first-aid supplies, all types of over-the-counter meds, as well as other donations. Deliver supplies you collect to our U.S. Headquarters (Maple Valley, WA.) or one of our chapters. If you are accompanying us on a mission, bring the items you collect to your team packing party.
