Monument Area and Colorado Springs Chapter
Thank you for looking into the Monument Area and Colorado Springs Chapter of Corner of Love. This charitable mission organization’s goal is to provide medical/dental relief and clothing/shoes to impoverished Nicaraguan people, including aiding children in the ability to go to school by providing new school shoes.
The Monument Area and Colorado Springs Chapter has participated in missions to San Ramón, Nicaragua, and its surrounding villages since formed in 2010. Monument’s leadership and support have been growing ever since its first mission. The chapter has an average of 50 participants from our community who travel every year to Nicaragua. With Monument community’s generous support, numerous fundraising events are staged throughout the year in preparation for each trip, such as a St. Patrick’s Day party with John’s rock band, local school shoe drives, clothing donations, a three on three basketball tournament and a best ball golf tournament.
Monument’s Corner of Love participants and leaders always encourage help in the form of donations of clothes and shoes (particularly children’s), medical supplies, hygiene items (toothbrushes, soap, etc), and even better— participation in one of the trips to Nicaragua. The Monument team wholeheartedly believes that these trips are extremely gratifying, eye opening, and life changing to anyone that participates.
Thank you for your support!

Hello from Denver, the mile high city that offers lots of outdoor adventures along urban sophistication. We’re a new chapter for Corner of Love, birthed by a large group from Denver traveling with the Monument Area and Colorado Springs Chapter in prior years. We’re excited to have our first Denver chapter trip this holiday season from December 28-January 4, enabling students, families, and professionals to have an adventure during their holiday break. We’ll work hard, gain a new perspective, and start the new year off right with a A New Heart. We’re a fun-loving group with a heart for service and lots of family involvement. Kids as young as 3 have traveled with us, contributing alongside their parents and gaining appreciation for the need that the world faces. Some of the schools represented by our families include Heritage, Regis, Valor Christian, and Mullen. We’re hosting “Coffee for a Cause” and” Wine into Water” events, Nica Dinners, and community concerts to help raise funds for medicine and trip fees. We encourage you to reach out and join us – we’re open to volunteers from other cities and regions, with about 1/3 of our volunteers residing outside of Denver. We promise that serving alongside us will change your life and will be a lot of fun, too.
Lisa Chirico, Chapter Leader, Denver
Lisa went on her first mission trip in 2011 with her husband Bill, son, Jared and daughter, Haley. Not knowing what to expect, The Chirico's decided to have an open mind, heart, and a willingness to be present in helping others in need. It was an amazing experience for the entire family, so much Haley has decided she wants to become a missionary! Last year Haley and Lisa again went to Nicaragua and made a commitment to become more involved with Corner of Love. Lisa has a degree from Colorado State University in Speech Communications and works full time as a Real Estate Broker; enjoying the complexities of solving problems and helping others. One of the biggest rewards is to share the missionary experience with clients, friends, and family so they too can be involved with the experience of helping others and a commitment to Corner of Love!
